PROBLEM
A solo project focused on creating a life-like render of a consumer product of choice. Using SIEMENS NX 11 to 3D model and create 'Product Visualisations'.

SOLUTION
For my chosen consumer product, I decided to model an Oral-B electric toothbrush, despite the bristle head being a difficult yet exciting to model, as well as it not being modeled before by previous years. Using a real life Oral-b toothbrush, I was able to obtain accurate dimensions for the model.
Using "Advanced Studios" in NX 11, I was able to render the model - assigning and editing complex materials to the models surface.
Using stock images, I was able to create In-situ "Product Visualisations" to show the model in use, as well as plain background visulisations to display the CAD model itself.

NX 11 CAD MODELLING
Modelling the toothbrush bristle head was a particularly difficult challenge. I used the spline tool to create singular bristles that varied from each other and used multiple pattern features to create a final resulting realistic brush head, ready to be rendered!

NX 11 RENDERING
Using NX11's rendering system, I was able to assign materials to each of the parts of the model and include decals to them. Materials were edited using their textures to create more realistic materials. Different lighting was experimented with to create the scene I wanted. Using global illumination of an office work space, I was able to get reflections of windows on the plastic body of the toothbrush.
