PROBLEM
After selecting the area of urinary catheter bags, we did as much research as possible to identify the problems associated with them in order to design a suitable solution.

SOLUTION
The following was our solution to the identified problems; a secure urinary catheter bag that could be used in daily and sporting activities with increased comfort, design and a water monitoring system to keep the parents mind at ease.
The solution
Normal catheters cause mucosal damage to the membrane as found in some literary articles.
The solution of the mucosal damage is to redesign the foly catheter shape. So the drainage happens from the centre.
A water monitoring system that can attach to the catheter bag. We found that the biggest problem was in the water content of the urine. A lack of this bring the user more at risk to infection. A photometer attached to the bag can relay water levels to the user and also notify parents to put their mind at ease.
Through product testing, using a standard urinary catheter bag in sporting activities, we found that the bag needed a supporting strapping mechanism that could withstand social activities.
As well as this, to remove the social stigma around urinary catheter bags, we designed thermochromic animal designs that the user would love.
PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
Extensive research was done before the project in order to identify the problems and become to close to expert on the subjects.
1. Literary Articles: Finding everything related to urinary catheter bags.
2. Medical Professionals: Talked to 4 healthcare professionals for direction, guidance and information from GP's to nurses and ICU consultants.
3. Company Visit: Visited MediPlus, a Foley catheter manufacturer to identify problems with Foley catheters. (as shown bellow).
4. Public: Talked to careers of children with urine incontinence and interviewed the public
